Atavatan Turkmenistan – American Companies Implement $45 Billion Projects in Turkmenistan

February 22, 2026

During his visit to the United States, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the head of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov answered questions from Rizwan Khan, the main host of the Al-Arabiya TV channel, which has millions of viewers.

During his visit to the United States, Hero Arkadag outlined Turkmenistan's views on the main goals of his visit to the United States, the current state of bilateral cooperation and opportunities for its development, as well as the priority areas of the country's domestic and foreign policy.

Rizwan Khan spoke about the trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States, as well as the current state of affairs in this area.

The National Leader of the Turkmen People replied:

"Our partnership with the United States of America is progressive, mutually beneficial, and on an equal footing.

Over the years, hundreds of economic projects with a total value of about 45 billion US dollars have been implemented and implemented in Turkmenistan with the participation of American companies.

Very large American companies have long been successful in the oil market, in the fuel and energy sector, in the transportation industry, in the electric power, in software, in agriculture, in the food industry, and in other sectors. We support and cherish this partnership, and will continue to encourage and support it. I can cite John Deere, General Electric, Case, Boeing, Coca-Cola, Sikorsky, Caterpillar, etc. These aren't all of the companies on the list.

I would like to emphasize the important role played by the Turkmen-American Business Council, which was founded in 2008 by our initiative.

Since then, it has become an important and effective tool for bilateral cooperation. It has played an important role in establishing, developing and strengthening relations between the business sectors of the two countries, as well as in jointly exploring future areas of cooperation. It has also become an effective platform for the implementation of major projects in various sectors of the country's economy. The Business Council has earned a well-deserved reputation among business groups in the two countries, and its ideas and recommendations are listened to by government agencies in Turkmenistan and the United States.

At the same time, it is clear that there is a greater scope of mutual opportunity. The first step is to diversify Turkmenistan's economy, expand high-tech industries, and implement large-scale national and international infrastructure projects.

We see great opportunities in Turkmenistan to attract American investment and technology to the development of innovation and science-based industries. We also see strong opportunities in the areas of electricity, computer and logistics services, education, and professional development.
